The real magic happens when the button mushrooms act like little sponges, soaking up the savory beef juices and rich garlic butter. Ingredients
- 300 g Beef Steak
- 200 g Button Mushrooms (about 2 cups whole)
- 2 medium Potatoes
- 2 handfuls Baby Spinach (about 60g)
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 30 g Butter
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 0.5 tsp Salt
Instructions
- 1Wash and chop the potatoes into small cubes. Halve the button mushrooms and cut the beef steak into bite-sized cubes.
- 2Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the potatoes, season with a little salt, and cook for 8-10 minutes until golden and tender. Remove and set aside.
- 3In the same skillet, add the beef steak bites and sear for 2-3 minutes until nicely browned on the edges. Remove and set aside with the potatoes.
- 4Melt the butter in the skillet. Add the minced garlic and button mushrooms, cooking for 3-4 minutes until the mushrooms are golden and tender.
- 5Pour in the Worcestershire sauce to deglaze the pan, scraping up any flavorful bits. Return the cooked beef steak and potatoes to the skillet, tossing everything together well.
- 6Finally, stir in the fresh baby spinach, cooking for 1 minute just until wilted. Serve hot!
Chef's Tips
- •Cut your potatoes into very small cubes so they cook through quickly in the skillet.
- •Do not overcrowd the pan when cooking the beef steak, or it will steam instead of getting a nice brown crust.
