A high-protein breakfast omelet featuring savory seared pork, shredded brussel sprouts, and a medley of stir-fry vegetables.
Start your morning with a robust and satisfying Hearty Pork & Garden Veggie Omelet. This recipe is the perfect way to transform your high-perishability ingredients into a gourmet breakfast. The Hearty Pork & Garden Veggie Omelet combines succulent, pan-seared pork steaks with a colorful medley of stir-fry vegetables and earthy brussel sprouts, all folded into a light and fluffy egg base. By using pork steaks for breakfast, you gain a massive protein boost that keeps you full until lunch, while the brussel sprouts provide a delightful crunch and nutty flavor once shredded and sautéed. The addition of milk to the eggs ensures a creamy, tender texture that balances the savory meat. This Hearty Pork & Garden Veggie Omelet is not just a meal; it's a smart kitchen strategy to use up your freshest produce and proteins before they go to waste. Tips for success: ensure your skillet is hot before adding the pork to get a beautiful golden crust, and shred your vegetables thinly so they cook at the same rate as the eggs. Whether you are fueling up for a busy day or enjoying a slow weekend brunch, this dish delivers on flavor and nutrition.
Ingredients
- 150 g Pork Steaks (about 1 medium steak)
- 3 count Eggs
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 75 g Stir Fry Vegies (about 1 cup)
- 3 count Brussel Sprouts (about ⅓ cup shredded)
Instructions
- 1Finely dice the pork steaks into small, bite-sized cubes. Thinly shred the brussel sprouts.
- 2In a small bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together until well combined and slightly frothy.
- 3Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced pork steaks and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- 4In the same skillet, add the stir fry vegies and shredded brussel sprouts. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- 5Reduce the heat to medium and spread the vegetables evenly across the pan. Pour the eggs mixture over the vegetables.
- 6Gently sprinkle the cooked pork steaks over one half of the omelet.
- 7Cover the pan for 2 minutes to let the top set. Once the edges are firm and the center is just set, fold the omelet in half over the pork.
- 8Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve immediately.
Chef's Tips
- •For extra flavor, season the pork with a pinch of salt or pepper while searing.
- •If your stir-fry mix contains large pieces of broccoli, chop them smaller so the omelet remains easy to fold.
- •Using a lid while the eggs cook helps the top set without overcooking the bottom.
